The above fees include:

  • Attendance, considering evidence taking your instructions and attending at single hearing all totaling no more than 1.5 hours

  • Travel to a court within 1 hour of the office address.

  • providing advice on likely sentence

  • We will explain the court procedure to you, so you know what to expect on the day of your hearing, and the sentencing options available to the court.

  • We will conduct any further preparatory work, obtain further instructions from you if necessary and answer any follow up queries you have.

  • We cannot provide a timescale of when your hearing will take place, as this depends on the court listing for that day.

  • We will discuss the outcome with you. If advice is required on appeal, this we will carry an additional cost and you will be informed of this

These fee does not include

  • instruction of any expert witnesses

  • taking statements from any witnesses

  • advice and assistance in relation to a special reason hearing or hardship hearings.

  • advice or assistance in relation to any appeal or sending instructions to a barrister to advise on appeal.

These fees will be discussed with you if the need arises, also if the court sends your case to the crown court for sentence or trial then these fees will be discussed with you. Any work over and above this will be charged at £200 plus 20% VAT per hour.

Should you plead not guilty at the first hearing then we will charge £450 plus 20% VAT (fixed fee) for every half day of attendance at court for any further hearings. Any preparation and attendance that will be required for these further hearings will charged at £200 plus 20% VAT per hour.

The key stages of your matter are based on the presumption that you have entered a guilty plea and have a date for your hearing.

  • Meet with your solicitor to provide instructions on what happened.

  • We will consider initial disclosure, and any other evidence and provide advice.

  • We will explain the court procedure to you, so you know what to expect on the day of your hearing, and the sentencing options available to the court.

  • We will conduct any further preparatory work, obtain further instructions from you if necessary and answer any follow up queries you have.

  • We will attend court on the day and meet with you before going into the court. We anticipate being at court for half a day.

  • Report the outcome of the court hearing.

Disbursements

Disbursements are costs related to your matter that are payable to third parties these include fees to experts medical or otherwise, interpreters, barristers these fees will attract VAT of 20%. We will discuss these with you at the first appointment as it is only then we will be able to establish whether we need to use the services of experts, interpreters or barristers.

Mileage will be charged at £1.00 per mile plus 20% VAT, parking fees will be charged inclusive of VAT .
